ETS has begun the major lift operation for the signature roof canopy at Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, marking one of the most significant milestones to date for the stadium’s tensile structure.
Over the course of the operation, the ETS team is raising more than 1,400 tons of cables and clamps into place using 96 synchronized hydraulic jacks. Once elevated, the cable net system will support an additional 1,300+ tons of steel and nearly 330,000 square feet of PTFE and ETFE membrane that will define the stadium’s iconic canopy.
This work demonstrates the precision, collaboration, and engineering coordination required to execute large-scale tensile structures. As the lift progresses, the Miami Freedom Park roof canopy continues to take shape above the stadium bowl.
