McKinney & Olive
FabriTec Structures, LLC, North America’s leading design-build contractor specializing in tension fabric structures, has just entered the fabric fabrication phase of a massive design/build project to construct luxury retail and office space at the 3.1 acre site at McKinney Avenue and Olive Street in Dallas, Texas.
The prestigious tower’s design was completed by world class Argentine-American architect, Cesar Pelli, of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, and will be constructed by The Beck Group and FabriTec Structures.
For its part, FabriTec Structures will design engineer, fabricate, supply and install 13 tensile membrane canopies totaling 16,365 sq. ft. in surface area atop the five-floor parking structure. The point-supported PTFE membrane sails were chosen to reduce the heat island effect caused by the sun’s midday rays beating down on the rooftop concrete, and will reduce temperatures and cool the air beneath the membrane by up to 35% more over traditional building materials.
The McKinney & Olive development is located across the street from The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, and will feature 50,000 sq. ft. of luxury retail space and 480,000 of Class A+ office space transforming the site in uptown into an iconic office and retail destination and the tallest building in Uptown.
Regular project updates including photography and video are posted weekly on the FabriTec Structures blog and social media network including LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Flickr.
