Taking Shape: Tensile Membrane Structure Over New Hope Pedestrian Bridge

New Hope Bridge in Rogers PTFE Tensile Membrane StructureA new point-supported PTFE tensile membrane structure will be placed on top of the New Hope Bridge in Rogers, AR. The structure will have 12 shade sails in a circular array, is being erected over the intersection of the crisscrossing trails.

Its purpose will be to provide shade for pedestrian and bicycle traffic who might stop to rest their muscles and take in the surrounding beauty before completing the journey to their ultimate destination. The trail improvements, including the bridge, are led by California-based transportation
planner, Michael Jones, whose goal is to create active communities as well as safe ways to commute within them.
