PFEIFER Structures has constructed 13 tensile membrane canopies totaling 16,365 sq. ft. in surface area atop a five-floor parking structure at the luxury live-work space known as McKinney & Olive in downtown Dallas, TX.
The prestigious tower’s design was completed by world class Argentine-American architect, Cesar Pelli, of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, and has been constructed by The Beck Group and PFEIFER Structures.
The point-supported PTFE membrane sails were chosen to reduce the heat island effect caused by the sun’s midday rays beating down on the rooftop concrete, and will reduce temperatures and cool the air beneath the membrane by up to 35% more over traditional building materials.
