Situated on a former naval base, this ferry terminal canopy provides travelers with an easy and pleasant landmark. Using a 3-part epoxy coating to protect the steel, this undulating PTFE canopy provides weather protection for passengers heading to San Francisco.
Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal is an expansion of the San Francisco Bay Ferry transit system. The new ferry terminal connects Alameda with other Bay area destinations like San Francisco and Oakland. The PTFE-covered tensile membrane structure provides coverage over the area where passengers will queue to board the ferry. The fabric structure draws design inspiration from the waves of the very bay where it was built.
